Okay - so this isn't ACTUALLY the "quickening phase...that happened (I'm fairly certain) while I was driving home from getting my hair done on September 20th, 2012. And boy so exciting!!!
But just a few minutes ago I SWEAR he was doing cartwheels! For so many minutes that I was just sitting at my desk in awe and happiness while getting nothing at all done.
Aren't such little miracles a blessing? I'll never get these first feelings back, so I wanted to share!

Women's Birth & Wellness Center
So...though I still haven't made a general announcement as of today, 10/9/12, I'm pretty pregnant. There isn't much to do to get around that fact considering I'm about 19 weeks along (check out Jayden's ticker in the sidebar!). Since that is a fact, and life is about to get SO MUCH MORE real than many of my peers have experienced thus far, I've decided to try to make this blog work for me, and work with me to help educate, entertain, and enlighten myself, my loved ones, and anyone (like I sometimes do) that gets far too bored and starts reading random blogs or searching topics they don't want to ask about on Google.
So...topic of the day? The Women's Birth & Wellness center in Chapel Hill, NC. We've (me and my darling curly head) had a few ups and downs in the selection process, and we're happy with our decision to use the only certified free-standing birth center in Eastern North Carolina. Don't mistake me - I take prescriptions from my trusted doc, Dr. Theresa Amerson in downtown Raleigh, I'm not 100% holistic, a health food nut, or in any related category. I do however believe that women giving birth is NATURAL and unless something goes terribly wrong (not a little bit slow, or a lot slow, but actually wrong) it should be done naturally. That being said, unless Jayden or I are sick or in trouble, I see no reason for the increased cost and routine needles of a hospital.
Which brings me to the birthing center! The Women's Birth & Wellness Center is a pretty cool place thus far. There's a system in place to keep monthly numbers manageable (i.e. don't run out of beds for women in labor) as well as education options (and requirements) for those that attend. The bulletin board alone probably provides more information, resources, and informational opportunities than the average hospital bulletin.
Well...I'm supposed to be working, so more to come later, however after 2 visits I can already say the only other place I would choose to have my children (assuming no life-threatening issues) is at home.

The New...Unexpected?
So...since my first post we've revealed the big news to all those important (which DOES NOT include the Facebook community lol) and close to us, our parents have digested and gone through whatever their array of emotions were to end up at serene happiness while awaiting the arrival of their first grand-cutie pie. The friends congratulated, the guys drank (and got a little silly over bowling) and the girls just knew the sex.
Well...due to dad's effort's this time, we're having a BOY! Yes...a potential little ball of ridiculous energy and mouthiness ready and waiting to turn our world upside down. And yes, he's got a name, to be revealed later. And boy am I hungry...oh, and 17weeks! I can't believe so much time has passed already. I supposed I should finish telling people I know before I wake up and suddenly its obvious!
Well...I've lost my fervor for writing for the day. I thought it would last longer and include more information...interesting.

Semi-experienced blogger here, hoping to have tons of free time (now that I've FINALLY graduated college!) to share my life with you all out there.
A little about us...well right now its a BIG secret, but we're expecting our first little sticky bean! I'm so excited/scared/amazed...all the adjectives that are similar!
If anyone would like to share advice, stories, DEALS, suggestions...I'm open! Please comment your hearts out!
